Armed with a brief to design and produce a pair of delicately handcrafted crystal Chinese Dragons, Inspired By Design immediately rose to the challenge. These dramatic lighting installations were developed by Simon Shuck of IBD, Inspired By Design. These extravagant Chinese Dragons were destined for Buddha-Bar, in Knightsbridge which is currently hailed as London’s latest and most fashionable East-meets-West restaurant. These two dragons are suspended over two levels of the restaurant, animated only by the coloured RGB lights.

Simon Shuck Founder of Inspired By Design said: “We are always excited by new projects that involve a bit of ingenuity and resourcefulness. On top of which we had to suspend these huge and majestic beast within each of the two stair voids, attached to only a bespoke floor and ceiling plate”.

These extravagant Chinese Dragons were destined for Buddha-Bar, in Knightsbridge which is currently hailed as London’s latest and most fashionable East-meets-West restaurant.

Inspired By Design calculated that they would need 2000 metre lengths of steel cable and over 50,000 pieces of intricately pierced crystal to begin their elaborate creation. These auspicious creatures are the centre piece of a beautiful interior as their crystals cascade down the two levels of the restaurant. Inspired By Design managed the installation, which took a seamlessly three days to perfect. They illuminated the Dragons by using high-powered RGBW LED projectors located within the base of the structure with bespoke louvers to prevent glare.
